Our May Bucket List: Fishing

We’re on a role with our bucket list. My fever and severe coughing took away two days, but with a lot of fluids and overdosing on medicine I got better in no time. I couldn’t wait to go fishing because three years absence is a long time for someone who used to fish at least 3 times a week.

I did not have the type of luck I once had and ended up with illegal fishes EVERYTIME >_<. I either caught the reefs, humuhumunukunukuapua’a (caught the same one three times), and a papio just below the legal size (pictured). So everything was catch and release for 4-hours straight. I didn’t mind at all since we went fishing with friends and straight to eating sushi to compensate the fact that we didn’t catch any that could have been thrown on the grill :(.

When visiting Hawaii and you decide to go fishing, please learn our laws regarding what is ‘ok’ to catch & what is not.
